Dutchess County Community & Family Services (DCCFS)– Emergency Shelters/Warming Centers, The Living Room, located at 29 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie

 

For individuals in need of overnight shelter, Hudson River Housing picks up individuals from the Living Room at 7 pm and brings them to the Webster House where they are provided with a meal and a warm place to sleep until they are brought back to Poughkeepsie at 7 am after receiving breakfast.

 

Note: DCFS does not use the Living Room nor the Webster House for families. Families should call the helpline at 845-485-9700 for further information.

Rockland County 2018

Rockland County Emergency Warming Center. It is located at the Robert Yeager Health Center, 50 Sanatorium Road, Building D, rear entrance, in Pomona, New York 10970. (845) 364-2346 or (845) 364-2332
 

Guests are given a place to sleep, a hot meal, access to a shower, washing machine, and dryer, and access to essential services provided by the Department of Social Services.

There are three locations for pick-up to bring guests to the Emergency Warming Center:
• Reformed Church of Nyack located at 18 South Broadway, Nyack (Broadway and Burd)
• International Food Market, 193 Route 59, Spring Valley (Pick-up is at the west parking lot of Key Bank)
• Village of Haverstraw, 50 West Broad Street, Haverstraw (Commuter Parking Lot)

Be at the pick up locations between 6:00- 6:30pm and approximately 7:30 - 8:00pm for a ride to the Emergency Warming Center. Individuals may go directly to the Warming Center location between 6:00pm and 9:00pm. There will be no walk-ins after 9:00 pm. If it is after 9:00pm, you can go to your local police department who will assist you in accessing the Emergency Warming Center.

To use this warming center, individuals: • Must be 18 years old and older • Have no other housing options available • Able to provide for their own care • Must provide information for Intake • Pose no risk to themselves or staff members
