Westchester County 2019

Shelters, warming centers, and charging centers have been set up at the following locations:

  • Bedford: Warming Center, Town Hall, 231 Bedford Rd.
  • Cortlandt: Shelter/Warming Center, Moribito Community Center – 29 Westbrook Dr., 24 hours.
  • Elmsford: Warming Center, Village Hall, 15 S. Stone Ave., 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
  • Elmsford: Mobile Charging Site, White Plains and Sears avenues, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
  • Larchmont: Library, 121 Larchmont Ave., Larchmont, open during day.
  • Lewisboro: Warming Center, Lewisboro Library, 15 Main St., noon-5 p.m. Sunday.
  • Mamaroneck: Warming Center, Library, 136 Prospect Ave., open during day.
  • Mamaroneck: Warming Center, Senior Center, 1288 Boston Post Rd., Larchmont.
  • Mt. Kisco: Warming Center, Boys and Girls Club, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
  • Mt. Kisco: Warming Center, Mt. Kisco Public Library, 100 Main St., 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
  • Mt. Pleasant: Warming Center, Town Hall Tower Room/Community Center, pending details.
  • North Castle: Warming Center, Hergenhan Center, 40 Maple Ave., 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
  • North Salem: Warming Center, North Salem VAC, 14 Daniel Dr. (Exit 8 on I-684), open until 9 p.m. Sunday.
  • North White Plains: Library, warming center, 10 Clove Rd., 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Ossining: Community Center, 95 Broadway, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
  • Pelham: Warming Center, Daronco Town Housem 20 5th Ave., Pelham.
  • Rye: Warming Center, 281 Midland Ave.
  • Rye Brook: Warming Center, AJP Community Center, 32 Garibaldi Pl., open noon-7 p.m. and later if needed.
  • Somers: Shelter/Warming Center, Heritage Hills Activity Center, Heritage Hills Drive.
  • Tarrytown: Warming Center/Charging Station, 240 W. Main St., open as of 8 a.m. Sunday.

Town of Dover – There are currently no plans to open a warming center

If there are any requests for assistance, please contact Town of Dover Supervisor Linda French (845) 656-2235

Town of Beekman – If the need arises, the Beekman Fire House, 316 Beekman-Poughquag Road, will be used as a warming center for town residents. If there are any requests for assistance, please contact Supervisor Mary B. Covucci at (914) 475-2627 or Deputy Supervisor Ezio Battaglini at (845) 656-5988.

Dutchess County Community & Family Services (DCCFS)– Emergency Shelters/Warming Centers, The Living Room, located at 29 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie

For individuals in need of overnight shelter, Hudson River Housing picks up individuals from the Living Room at 7 pm and brings them to the Webster House where they are provided with a meal and a warm place to sleep until they are brought back to Poughkeepsie at 7 am after receiving breakfast.

Note: DCFS does not use the Living Room nor the Webster House for families. Families should call the helpline at 845-485-9700 for further information.

 

Putnam County 2019

Mahopac Firehouse located at 741 US-6, Mahopac, NY 10541.
The Mahopac Firehouse will be a comfort station and will be providing meals from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today courtesy of the Mahopac Lions Club. 845-628-3160

Rockland County 2019

Rockland County Warming Center operates every evening/overnight through April 30 and stays open during the day when the temperature, including wind chill, is 32 degrees or colder.

People can board buses to the county warming center from the following places:

Pomona: Department of Social Services, 50 Sanatorium Road, (at the bus shelter) at 50 p.m. (Monday-Friday).

Spring Valley: Spring Valley Parking lot west of Key Bank on Route 59 at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Nyack: SouthBroadway and Burd Street (in front of the First Reformed Church of Nyack) at 5:45 p.m and 8:15 p.m.

Haverstraw: Village of Haverstraw Commuter parking lot (across from Village Hall) at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Orangetown: Town Hall, 26 W. Orangeburg Road, Orangeburg, is designated as a warming center all winter from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 845-359-5100 for information.

Piermont: The warming shelter is the Piermont Fire House. People can call police dispatch, at (845) 359-0240, who will contact fire chiefs to open the shelter. 

Ramapo: Warming centers are: 

  • Ramapo Town Hall, at 237 NY-59 in Suffern, on Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Joseph T. St. Lawrence Center, at 115 Torne Valley Road in Hillburn, on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to  9 p.m.
