Adirondack Region flooding update: 1/19/2018

 

There is a flooding in Plattsburgh (Clinton County) and some area in Franklin county.

Shelter: Shelter opened at the former Moose Lodge building on Route 9 near Stewarts and Clare and Carls restaurant. The Elmore SPCA and Animal Rescue and Welfare Services has been engaged to work the operation of the shelter for companion animals.

Donation: Salvation Army, 4804 South Catherine Street, Plattsburgh is accepting Pet food to help with the pets in the flood

monetary donation: Donations can be made to United Way of the Adirondack Region, Inc., 45 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh, NY  12901 in the form of Gift or Gas Cards to give to the Flood victims.  Or people can make donations to the Flood Fund by writing a check to United Way of the Adirondack Region, Inc. putting Flood Victims in the memo or writing a letter referencing the funds to go to the food victims. 

Volunteer Opportunities: Anyone looking to volunteer they can call the United Way of the Adirondack Region, Inc. office at 518-563-0028 or stop by our office, 45 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

                        Nyack: South Broadway in front of the First Reformed Church.
                        Haverstraw: Commuter parking lot across from Village Hall.
                        Spring Valley: Parking lot near Route 45 and Route 59
