Description of Program
Hofstra University is an approved provider organization (approval number NYPO-100009) in the New York Insurance Department Continuing Education Program. The Insurance Law of 1992 requires that agents, brokers and consultants satisfactorily complete 15 credits of continuing education during each biennial licensing period. General course offerings include: The Story of Insurance: A History of Managing Risk (NYCR-245577); A New York History of Managing Risk for Agents and Brokers (NYCR-259114); Agents and Brokers Property and Casualty Refresher Class (NYCR-259115); Insurance Fraud and Abuse-the 21st Century Costly Crime (NYCR-259116); NY Workers' Compensation-Disability Laws and Procedures and Paid Family Leave Law-2017 (NYCR-259117); Paid Family Leave (PFL) (NYCR-259118) andWhat Agents and Brokers Need to Know for NY Statutory Coverage Compliance (NYCR-259119). All New York state-approved classroom courses will be eligible for use in satisfying the 50-percent classroom instruction requirement. But choose your courses carefully; not all courses are applicable to every license.
