General Information
Description of ProgramAdvocates for community resources for the homeless of Nassau and Suffolk Counties including the development of emergency, transitional and permanent low cost housing. Provides opportunities for agencies to present current issues facing Long Island's homeless and educates professionals about available services. Coordinates applications to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for homeless funding and conducts an annual Homeless Count. Provides technical assistance to local organizations whose services do not meet the criteria for HUD funding, but are essential for meeting the needs of the homeless.
