General Information
Description of ServiceFamily Assessment and Referral Services provides a free, voluntary home visiting program to support pregnant or newly parenting families. A support worker provides a home visit to families to identify strengths and need for referrals. An assessment interview determines if the program is a good fit for the family. Ongoing support is provided for the family including parenting education, child development, community referrals, and life skills.

Helpful TipsSchenectady parents are enrolled prenatally or before the child reaches 3 months of age. Services continue until the child is 3 to 5 years old.
