Advisory/Advocacy ServicesThe purpose of the LGBT Crime Victim Assistance Project is to provide support and advocacy to LGBT victims of crime, including, but not limited to, sexual assault, hate crime and domestic violence to ensure the victims of crime receive the appropriate services and referrals without fear of further victimization. The Project assists crime victims in the restitution and compensation claim process, and in receiving a forensic rape exam and other appropriate exams or assessments. Alcohol/Drug Abuse ServicesEmpowers people who have been affected by chemical dependency to regain control over their lives. Family members, friends, and others who are concerned about someone’s chemical use are welcome to the program whether or not that individual is seeking help. The program is licensed by OASAS (Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services) and includes a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Individual counseling, groups, educational classes, and psychiatric treatment are available on site. Open-access intake, appointment not needed. Counseling ServicesCenter Counseling Services are offered through a partnership between the Pride Center and the State University of New York at Albany School of Social Welfare program. Low or no fee counseling services are offered to address issues such as relationship and couple issues, family and parenting issues, healing trauma and abuse, sexual orientation and gender identity, depression and anxiety, addictions and recovery, and living with HIV and chronic illness.
